Scholarship Program
While there is provincial funding for respite services in both Alberta and Saskatchewan, it can take weeks to months for the application process to be completed. Even when funding is secured, it is not always adequate to provide the amount of respite time needed by the families involved. For this reason, Snowflake House Respite Foundation has set up this scholarship program.
A Bronze scholarship ($25) will provide for 1 hour or respite time, a Silver scholarship ($100) will provide four hours of respite time, a Gold scholarship ($200) will provide nine hours, and a Platinum scholarship ($1000) will provide 45 hours of respite services. This is time that caregivers can use to spend time with their other children, catch up with basic household chores such as laundry or grocery shopping, or possibly even work in the workplace to provide for their families. Snowflake House believes that strong families make strong communities.
